A Child’s Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas
A Child’s Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas
A Classic Christmas Read-Aloud with Edward Ardizzone Illustrations
A Child’s Christmas in Wales is Dylan Thomas’s beloved Christmas reminiscence, illustrated with expressive watercolor and line drawings by Edward Ardizzone.
Written in rich, musical prose, this modern holiday classic gathers together the memories of many childhood Christmases into one unforgettable winter day. Snow falls, relatives arrive, songs are sung, gifts are opened, fires are tended, and the small moments of family life become larger than life through Thomas’s humor, rhythm, and warmth.
Edward Ardizzone’s illustrations bring an old Welsh Christmas to the page with character and charm, offering a lovely visual companion to Thomas’s lilting language. This softcover edition is especially well suited for family read-alouds, older children who enjoy poetic language, holiday book baskets, and adults who collect beautifully illustrated Christmas classics.
A timeless seasonal book for reading aloud by the fire, sharing across generations, or returning to each winter as part of a family Christmas tradition.
